Japan Post: Changes to the International Mail Conditions Table

Japan Post has stated that there will be some changes to the International Mail Conditions Table from Friday, August 1, 2025. The main changes are as follows.

Iceland, Azerbaijan, United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Iraq, Indonesia, Uganda, United Kingdom (Jersey only), Ethiopia, El Salvador, Austria, Oman, Ghana, Greece, Côte d'Ivoire, Djibouti, Singapore, Zimbabwe, Switzerland, Sweden, Slovenia, Thailand, Czech Republic, Tunisia, Denmark, Germany, Togo, New Caledonia, Nepal, Bahrain, Panama, Paraguay, Bhutan, Fiji, Brazil, Brunei, Venezuela, Belarus, Botswana, Portugal, Malta, South Africa, Myanmar, Maldives, Morocco, Jordan, Luxembourg and Lebanon | EMS mail: The tracking claim period will be changed to 4 months starting from Friday, August 1st. |
Algeria | EMS mail: Delivery will be changed to Saturday. |
Argentina | All mail: Added requirement for international mail containing goods to provide the recipient's CUIT taxpayer identification number.

Armenia | Regular mail: Changed to not handle registered mail containing valuables. Also changed the maximum insurance amount and storage period. Parcel mail: Added a note that, in the event of undeliverable mail, it may be returned or forwarded by airmail even if the "most economical rail route" is specified. |
Israel | EMS mail: weight changed. |
Iraq | Parcel post: Changed to no delivery to the address. All mail: Added a statement that the recipient's name and complete address must be written, and where possible, a mobile phone number and email address must also be written. |
uk | Regular mail: Added International ePacket Light-related text to "Special Conditions." |
Ecuador | All mailings: Include the recipient's name and complete address, plus, where possible, the recipient's ID number, mobile phone number and email address. |
Australia (including Christmas Island, Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Norfolk Island, Lord Howe Island and areas of the country in Antarctica) | EMS mail: Added information on items that can be changed or corrected. |
Austria, Côte d'Ivoire and Tunisia | EMS mail: Saturday delivery will no longer be available. |
Netherlands | Regular mail: Changed to not accept return requests or address changes. |
Guyana | Regular mail: Changed to no longer handle registered mail containing valuables. Parcel mail: Changed storage period. |
Guadeloupe, Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, French Guiana, Martinique and Reunion | EMS mail: The number of CN23 sheets required and the tracking claim period have been changed. Also, delivery has been changed to counter delivery. |
Guinea | Regular mail: Changed to handle insured and registered mail containing valuables. Also changed the number of CN23 sheets required and the storage period. Parcel mail: Changed to not handle insured items. Also changed the storage period. |
Curacao and Saudi Arabia | Parcel post: Storage period changed. |
Singapore | EMS Mail: Changed to no longer deliver to post office boxes. |
Spain | Regular mail: We will no longer handle insured mail. |
Suriname | Regular mail: Changed the storage period. EMS mail: Added a statement that the recipient's complete name, address, and phone number should be included where possible. |
Sri Lanka | Regular mail: The maximum insurance amount has been changed. |
Slovakia | Parcel Post: The maximum insurance amount has been changed. |
Germany | EMS mail: maximum size limit changed. |
Trinidad and Tobago | Regular mail: Changed to no longer handle insured mail or registered mail containing valuables. Also changed storage period. |
New Zealand, Philippines, Mexico and Moldova | Regular mail: Storage period changed. |
Panama | All mailings: Added a statement to include email address whenever possible, and revised the language regarding including recipient's name and full address. |
Paraguay | Regular mail: Changed to not allow return requests or address changes. Parcel mail: Changed maximum size and weight (airmail only). |
Bhutan | Parcel post: The number of CN23 required and the storage period have been changed. Also, delivery to the address has been changed. EMS post: The handling area has been changed. |
France (including Corsica, Andorra and Mayotte) | Regular mail: Changed the maximum insurance amount. Also added wording related to International ePacket Light to "Special Conditions". Parcel mail: Changed to not be issued at the counter. |
Myanmar | Regular mail: Changes to the number of CN23 sheets required and storage period. Also, changes to the ability to request return and change address. EMS mail: Changes to the handling area. |
Maldives | EMS mail: Will now be handed over at the counter. |
Mongolia | Parcel post: The number of CN23 required, storage period and maximum insurance amount (airmail only) have been changed. |
