[FedEx] Ban on Shipping Firearms, Weapons, and Parts (Including Kitchen Knives) to the EU

We have received an announcement from FedEx and would like to share the details below:

Quoted notice:

Shipments containing firearms, weapons, and related parts are subject to strict regulations imposed by EU authorities regarding handling, storage, transport, and customs clearance (including transit shipments). These regulations will now be further tightened.

Sendon has always prohibited the shipment of firearms, weapons, and related components, regardless of whether the sender possesses a license that meets legal requirements. Please also note that knives such as kitchen knives are included (excluding cutlery sets and butter knives).

If such items are found in your shipment and are deemed undeliverable by local authorities or our company, any return or disposal costs incurred will be the sole responsibility of the customer. Thank you for your understanding.

This restriction applies only to shipments to EU countries and does not affect shipments to non-EU destinations.

[Japan Post] Notice of Change in Acceptance of International Mail

Thank you very much for your continued support of Sendon.

We would like to inform you of an important announcement recently issued by Japan Post.

Quoted Announcement:
Currently, the acceptance of certain international mail items has been temporarily suspended. However, from Friday, August 1st, the acceptance status of international mail will be changed as follows:

「Japan Post」 Regarding the Delivery Delay of Mail to the Middle East Region (Update)

We would like to inform you of an update regarding the delivery delays of mail to the Middle East region.

Please see the following information.

Regarding the delivery delays of mail to the Middle East region announced on June 20, 2025, we have resumed international mail shipments to countries in the region except for Iran.
However, some suspension of certain air routes is still ongoing. Therefore, we kindly ask for your understanding that international mail to the affected countries may take longer than usual for delivery for the time being.

As for mail to Iran, due to the current difficulty in securing transportation, we will temporarily suspend acceptance of shipments to Iran from July 11, 2025.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused and ask for your kind understanding.

Japan Post: Changes to the International Mail Conditions Table

Japan Post has stated that there will be some changes to the International Mail Conditions Table from Friday, August 1, 2025. The main changes are as follows.

  • Please enter this in the "TAX Code/VAT Number" field as part of the electronic customs data.
Armenia Regular mail: Changed to not handle registered mail containing valuables. Also changed the maximum insurance amount and storage period.
Parcel mail: Added a note that, in the event of undeliverable mail, it may be returned or forwarded by airmail even if the "most economical rail route" is specified.
Israel EMS mail: weight changed.
Iraq Parcel post: Changed to no delivery to the address.
All mail: Added a statement that the recipient's name and complete address must be written, and where possible, a mobile phone number and email address must also be written.
uk Regular mail: Added International ePacket Light-related text to "Special Conditions."
Ecuador All mailings: Include the recipient's name and complete address, plus, where possible, the recipient's ID number, mobile phone number and email address.
Australia (including Christmas Island, Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Norfolk Island, Lord Howe Island and areas of the country in Antarctica) EMS mail: Added information on items that can be changed or corrected.

Notice of Delivery Delays for Mail Destined for the Middle East via Japan Post

We would like to inform you of an important notice we have received from Japan Post. Please see the announcement below:

Due to the worsening situation in the Middle East and the suspension of certain international flights, Japan Post has temporarily suspended the acceptance and delivery of international mail to the following countries via its international mail exchange offices.

We kindly ask you to refrain from sending mail from Japan to these countries for the time being.

If the situation in the region further deteriorates, mail that has already been accepted may be returned to the sender. Regardless of future developments, if you wish to cancel or retrieve mail that has already been sent, it can only be requested before the shipment has been processed at the international exchange office. A handling fee of 680 JPY per item will apply for such requests. We appreciate your understanding in advance.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your kind understanding and cooperation.

DHL: Important update regarding shipments to the United States with a customs value exceeding USD 800

DHL has reported that there are various suspensions, delays, and cancellations related to B2C shipments with a declared value exceeding 800 USD that are bound for The United States of America. Please see below.

  • As a result of recent U.S. Customs regulatory updates, we are experiencing multi-day transit delays to the U.S from any origin for shipments with a declared customs value exceeding USD 800.
  • Effective Monday, April 21st, 2025, and until further notice, we will temporarily suspend the collection and shipping of business-to-consumer (B2C) shipments to private individuals in the United States where the declared customs value exceeds USD 800.

Shipments with a declarable customs value below USD 800 are not affected by the suspension.

Malta Regular mail: Changed to not allow return requests or address changes.
All mail: Added a statement that for international mail containing goods, telephone numbers, mobile phone numbers, and email addresses should be included whenever possible.
South Africa Regular and parcel mail: The required number of CN23 sheets has been changed.
Morocco Parcel Post: The number of CN23 required, maximum insurance amount and storage period have been changed.
Montenegro Regular and parcel mail: Added that customs duties are levied on international mail containing goods.

Japan Post has announced that as of January 22, 2025, delivery delays caused by the hurricane have been resolved. Below is the notification that was sent before about the hurricane, which is now resolved.

The United States Postal Service has reported that due to the effects of Hurricane Helen, which occurred in September 2024, there are difficulties in handling mail in some areas of the southeastern United States, and that there are delays in the delivery of mail addressed to these areas

Resumption of international mail delivery to Canada

We have received notification from Canada Post that the strike by their postal workers ended on Tuesday, December 17th local time.
As a result, we would like to inform you that Japan Post will resume international mail delivery to Canada from Wednesday, December 18th.

Notification of International mail shipments to Canada suspended

Dear Sendon Customers

We have received notice from the Canadian Postal Service that they are on strike and will temporarily suspend the acceptance of mail to Canada.

As a result, we will suspend the sending of international mail from Japan to Canada for the time being via Japan Post`s EMS, Airmail, and Seamail services. 

In addition, depending on future developments, there is a risk that mail that has been accepted may be returned to customers.

Other shipping methods to Canada will continue to be available.

Please note that mail that has already been sent can be retrieved if it is before the post office handling overseas shipping (international postal exchange office) completes the shipping preparation. However, please note that a handling fee (680 yen) may be charged.

As acceptance is still suspended in certain countries and regions and sufficient transport capacity cannot be secured, Japan Post has continued to suspend or stop accepting parcels. Items that have been accepted so far but cannot be sent to the destination country or region are being returned by the post office responsible for delivery.

Please note that due to the ongoing reduction in flights to various countries and regions, there is a risk of delays in the delivery of international mail items that you accept.

Schedule Change Regarding Air and Sea Mail Shipping

Sendon.com starts shipping of products with lithium rechargeable batteries, like wireless earphones!

To Our Valuable Customers,

Sendon.com is pleased to announce that we are now able to ship some products that use lithium rechargeable batteries, such as wireless earphones, which could not be shipped previously.

Each box can be shipped as long as the weight of the lithium-ion battery is less than 5 kg. Only FedEx and DHL are available as shipping methods.
