Effective April 1, 2026, New Zealand Customs will change its import and export declaration fees. 

Due to these changes, the following new fee structure will be applied from April 1, 2026, and FedEx will charge you these fees at actual cost: 

High -value import (air cargo) declaration fee: NZD 59.59² ( including GST) 

It is collected by New Zealand Customs and the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) for the processing and management of the cargo. 

High -value export (air cargo) declaration fee: NZD 3.85 (including GST) 

It is collected by New Zealand Customs for the processing and management of the cargo. 

Cargo with a value exceeding NZD 1,000.00

DHL: Important update regarding shipments New Zealand

DHL has stated that the New Zealand Government will introduce a fee of 2.21 NZD per shipment plus Goods and Services Tax (GST) of 15% for goods delivered to New Zealand starting from 4/1/2026.

Regarding Shipments to France

[Japan Post] Delay in Delivery of Mail Items Destined for Bangladesh and Myanmar

Due to an increase in mail items and cargo handled by the airline used for transporting mail destined for Bangladesh and Myanmar, processing delays at local airport storage facilities have occurred sporadically since mid-January. As a result, delivery of mail items to these two countries has been delayed, according to information provided by the airline.

While we have requested the relevant airline to take prompt corrective measures, please be advised that delivery delays for mail items destined for these countries may continue for the time being.

From 2 February 2026, all FedEx deliveries to and from Ireland will require an Eircode. Eircode is Ireland's smart postal code system, a unique and specific seven-character postal code assigned to each residential or business postal address.

[DHL] Latest Customs Regulations for Israel and Italy

Effective Date: December 24, 2025

Details of the Change

The duty-free (de minimis) threshold for B2C imports into Israel has been increased as follows:

• Previous: USD 75

• New: USD 150

We would like to inform you that DHL has announced new legal and regulatory requirements affecting parcels delivered to Romania, Turkey, and North Macedonia.
Please find the details below, as quoted and summarized from DHL’s official notification.

Romania

Target: Sender & Recipient
Package Type: Non-Document (Goods)
Effective Date: January 1, 2026

Important Notice

The Romanian Government has introduced a regulatory fee for goods valued at under EUR 150 (excluding shipping, insurance, and other applicable charges) imported from non-European Union countries and cleared under the simplified customs declaration procedure.

This fee is intended to:

• Offset customs handling costs

• Address the increasing volume of low-value shipments

• Ensure fair competition between domestic businesses and overseas sellers

Fee Details

• Flat Fee: 25 RON per shipment (approximately EUR 5)

Important Notes

• This is a mandatory government-imposed fee and not a DHL Express charge.

• DHL Express will charge this fee to the payer of duties and taxes based on the selected DHL Duty Billing Service.

• The fee applies to shipments arriving in Romania on or after January 1, 2026.

• On DHL invoices, it will appear as a separate line item labeled:

[FedEx] Abolition of the De Minimis Threshold for Imports into Thailand

Abolition of the de minimis threshold for imports into Thailand and application of customs duties and VAT to low-value goods | Posted: January 12, 2026

From January 1, 2026, the Thai Customs Department will abolish the "de minimis" rule that applied to imports worth less than 1,500 baht. 

This means that all items imported into Thailand, even those valued at 1 baht, are subject to customs duties and value-added tax (VAT). 

How customs duties are calculated 

Taxes are calculated based on the CIF price, which includes: 

• Cost (C): The price of the goods stated on the invoice or the FOB price 

• Insurance (I): Actual insurance premium or 1% of the product value if uninsured 

• Freight (F): International shipping fee stated on the invoice 

Formula using CIF prices: 

• Import Duty = CIF x Duty Rate 

• VAT = (CIF + Import Duties) × 7% 

• Total tax amount = Duty + VAT 

Important Note 

1. Customs will apply the official monthly exchange rate published by the authority in calculating all duties and taxes. 

2. For express shipments, the highest applicable duty rate of any item in the shipment will be used to determine the duty rate for the entire shipment. 

3. Shipping charges must be clearly itemized as "Freight" on the invoice. If not, customs will apply standard freight rates.

[Japan Post] Regarding electronic customs data transmission for international mail addressed to Thailand

We have received a notice from Japan Post and would like to inform you as follows.

Quoted notice:

According to a notice dated December 22, 2025, the Thai Postal Service has announced that due to amendments to Thai customs regulations, the requirements for electronic customs data for mail destined for Thailand will be strengthened from January 1, 2026.
All mail arriving in Thailand, regardless of transport method, with contents valued at 1 baht or more, will be subject to import duties from January 1, 2026. However, international mail with contents valued at 1 baht or more but less than 1,500 baht, which was previously duty-free, will be delivered to the recipient's address with applicable duties, other taxes, and postal handling fees collected. Recipients
can collect their packages by scanning a QR code or paying cash to the postman. Therefore , international mail destined for Thailand that does not submit electronic customs data or that contains insufficient or inaccurate data is at increased risk of delay or return. Therefore , we ask that you use the International Mail My Page service to submit correct electronic customs data . Please note that if the package is delayed or returned, postage will not be refunded as this is at the discretion of the local customs office. *3

[Japan Post] Suspension of International Mail Service to Venezuela

We have received a notice from Japan Post and would like to inform you as follows.

Quoted notice:

Due to the recent deterioration of the situation in Venezuela, including the suspension of certain flights, the delivery of postal items destined for the country has become difficult, and delivery may take longer than usual.
Furthermore, depending on future developments, there is a possibility that accepted postal items may be returned to the sender.

In light of the above circumstances, we kindly ask that you refrain, as much as possible, from sending postal items from Japan to Venezuela for the time being.

If you wish to request the return of items that have already been posted, it is possible to do so provided that the preparation for dispatch at the post office handling overseas shipments (International Mail Exchange Office) has not yet been completed.
Please note that a handling fee (JPY 680) may be charged.

Notice of Revision of Bonded Shipment Storage Fees

FedEx hereby announces that the bonded shipment storage fees will be revised as outlined below for shipments that receive import customs clearance approval in Japan on or after January 12, 2026.

■ Applicable Shipments

Import shipments destined for Japan for which customs clearance is not completed within three business days from the shipment arrival date.

■ Revised Fees (per Air Waybill)

Starting from the fourth business day after arrival, the following fees will be charged per business day:

• JPY 25 per kg

• JPY 1,250 per shipment

Both fees apply simultaneously.

For further details, please refer to the “Bonded Shipment Storage Fee Q&A” available on the FedEx website.

Notes

• Q&A pages displayed until January 12, 2026, show the current fees prior to revision.

• Business days refer to weekdays excluding weekends and public holidays.

• Fees will be billed to the party designated on the air waybill as responsible for duties and taxes. If no payer is specified, charges will be billed to the importer.

Includes up to 30 minutes of inspection work and will be charged regardless of whether an inspection is conducted.
If inspection related to duty-free processing exceeds 30 minutes, an additional inspection service fee will apply.

• The inspection service fee is JPY 7,000 per hour.

• Fees will be billed to the party designated on the air waybill as responsible for duties and taxes. If no payer is specified, charges will be billed to the billing party listed on the service application form.

Regarding Shipments to Brazil

For packages sent to Brazil, if the recipient’s tax identification number (CPF/CNPJ) or passport number is not provided, there is a higher risk of delivery delays or return. Therefore, we strongly recommend providing the tax identification number.

There are two types of tax identification numbers for recipients:

• CPF (Individual Taxpayer Number): Format “000.000.000-00”

• CNPJ (Corporate Tax Registration Number): Format “00.000.000/0000-00”

The deadline for sending Christmas mail overseas to ensure delivery by Christmas is generally early December for airmail and late October for surface mail. However, please be aware that delays may occur due to the following:

[FedEx] Regarding Shipping Food to America and Canada

Up until August, we were able to ship certian foods to America via Japan Post, but with the current tariif situation, Japan Post is not shipping to America.

With that being said, we can still ship certians foods only to America via FedEx, but we need to create a FDA.

For this, we charge  a base of 4,500 JPY, plus 1,000 JPY per food application. Please keep this in mind and check with us first if you want to ship food via FedEx.

Japan Post: Regarding the Strike of Canada Post (Update 2)

We have received a notice from Japan Post and would like to inform you as follows.

The following is a quotation:

As previously notified on May 26, 2025, the labor union of Canada Post had been continuing a partial strike (refusal of overtime work, etc.) since May 23 (local time). We have received information from Canada Post that, on September 25 (local time), in protest against the postal service rationalization plan announced by the Canadian government, the union immediately escalated the strike to a full-scale action.

Therefore, for the time being, we will suspend sending international mail from Japan to Canada, and we kindly ask that you refrain from sending mail to Canada as much as possible.

Depending on future developments, there is a possibility that international mail already sent to Canada may experience significant delivery delays or may be returned to the sender.

In addition, retrieval requests from senders for mail that has already been posted can be accepted at post offices handling international mail (International Exchange Offices) before the mail is prepared for dispatch. Please note that a fee (¥680) may apply.

Japan Post: U.S. Shipments Temporarily Suspended

We would like to inform you of a notice received from Japan Post.

The following is a quotation:

On July 30, 2025, the U.S. government issued a presidential proclamation titled “Suspension of De Minimis Treatment for All Countries” regarding postal items destined for the United States.
According to this proclamation, postal items imported for personal consumption (dutiable items) will no longer be exempt from customs duties starting August 29 of this year. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued new guidelines on August 15, requiring carriers to pay customs bonds and prepare customs declarations; however, the procedures carriers and postal operators in other countries need to follow remain unclear, making implementation extremely difficult.
Therefore, from Wednesday, August 27, postal items to the U.S. (small packets, parcels, and EMS [goods]) containing the following items will be temporarily suspended, in line with other postal operators:

• Gifts between individuals with a declared value exceeding USD 100

• Goods imported for sale for consumption

Postal items such as letters, postcards, printed matter, EMS (documents), and gifts between individuals with a declared value of USD 100 or less will continue to be accepted.

Shipments containing firearms, weapons, and related parts are subject to strict regulations imposed by EU authorities regarding handling, storage, transport, and customs clearance (including transit shipments). These regulations will now be further tightened.

Sendon has always prohibited the shipment of firearms, weapons, and related components, regardless of whether the sender possesses a license that meets legal requirements. Please also note that knives such as kitchen knives are included (excluding cutlery sets and butter knives).

If such items are found in your shipment and are deemed undeliverable by local authorities or our company, any return or disposal costs incurred will be the sole responsibility of the customer. Thank you for your understanding.

Currently, the acceptance of certain international mail items has been temporarily suspended. However, from Friday, August 1st, the acceptance status of international mail will be changed as follows:

Due to the continued suspension of mail acceptance for certain countries/regions and insufficient transport capacity, acceptance of mail remains suspended or temporarily halted.

For mail that was previously accepted but cannot be shipped to the destination, items are being returned gradually by the responsible post office.

Regardless of future developments, if you wish to cancel or retrieve mail that has already been sent, it can only be requested before the shipment has been processed at the international exchange office. Notification of International mail shipments to Canada suspended

Dear Sendon Customers

We have received notice from the Canadian Postal Service that they are on strike and will temporarily suspend the acceptance of mail to Canada.

As a result, we will suspend the sending of international mail from Japan to Canada for the time being via Japan Post`s EMS, Airmail, and Seamail services. 

In addition, depending on future developments, there is a risk that mail that has been accepted may be returned to customers.

Other shipping methods to Canada will continue to be available.

Please note that mail that has already been sent can be retrieved if it is before the post office handling overseas shipping (international postal exchange office) completes the shipping preparation. However, please note that a handling fee (680 yen) may be charged.

Japan Post: Notice of Suspension of Services to Lebanon

Dear Customers

This is Sendoncom Customer Support.

Due to the global spread of COVID-19, some shipping services from Japan Post to certain areas in the Middile East have been temporarily suspended. These changes will take place from 11/15 JST, as shown in the table below.

You can check here for the latest information on whether international mail can be sent to each destination country/region, delivery delays, etc.

As acceptance is still suspended in certain countries and regions and sufficient transport capacity cannot be secured, Japan Post has continued to suspend or stop accepting parcels. Items that have been accepted so far but cannot be sent to the destination country or region are being returned by the post office responsible for delivery.

Please note that due to the ongoing reduction in flights to various countries and regions, there is a risk of delays in the delivery of international mail items that you accept.

Schedule Change Regarding Air and Sea Mail Shipping
